I’m of a similar age and got a similar calcium score as you. Very glad I did the test. I’m curious, what changes have you made? Did you decide to do more detailed tests, like Cleerly?
Woah, I hadn't seen Cleerly. That is very interesting. I'm going to look into it more. Are you doing that? Right now I'm trying to lower my blood pressure and cholesterol with improving my eating and exercise even more. I'm taking my blood pressure everyday. If I can't get it down in 3 months, I'm going to consider taking medication. Something I'm not a big fan of.
Definitely doing this, Travis. Thank you for bringing it to my attention! My dad died of heart issues and was otherwise pretty healthy. I don’t generally believe in “healthy” people testing and monitoring - that’s a discussion for another day - but I’m excited to see this is something accessible and available to me. ❤️
I can't wait to have that discussion. I think it's a very good debate between testing and too much testing. I am still very torn on it. Thanks for the kind words and I hope your score is a Zero!
I've been wanting to do something like this but I can't find a primary care doc that I trust. The last guy I visited just tried to sell me on ozempic the whole time and my previous one fired me for not being Jewish, when she became a rabbi doctor.
However, I have a PPO - is this something you can just go get done without a referral?
Blood pressure was most likely the driver of my LVH. I think the cholesterol was the driver of the higher Calcium score, but it could be genetic too. Wow, your blood pressure got very low there for a while. Did it cause any problems like dizziness and fainting? My blood pressure was very high for a long time but in the past 2 years I've gotten it into the 140-130/100-90 range. I need to keep getting it lower. I'm working on that now. Better health, better food, and now I'm trying to really dial back my salt. Which has been tough because salt is one of my favorite things.
I think my numbers didn't make sense the way I posted them. My systolic pressure raged from 122-145 and my diastolic 76-93 when I posted this.
I've had some fluctuations since then systolic 111-152 and diastolic 74-92.
Just listened to a huberman labs episode on breathing last week. Hoping nose breathing + 1x per day 3 minutes of 10 second box breathing helps lift up my HRV and lower stress. We'll see :)

You can! Definitely near you for sure. Take a look about half way down my post for instructions. It’s well worth it!
Oh duh :) Just made an appointment for later this month. I am amazed they had available times..
Let me know how it goes buddy. I hope you get a zero score!
Thanks for the PSA! Any idea what your blood pressure was? I've ranged from 122-145/76-93 over the past 4 years.
