I listened to Joe Liemandt on the Peter Attia podcast last week and I couldn't peel myself away even to sleep. Interesting aside: the software company he founded (Trilogy) was the very first place I ever wanted to work, driven primarily by stories that the recruiter told about his CEO, this quirky guy worth $600M who still drove his same Saturn to work every day.

I honestly feel like they're gonna crack education wide open. The data will become too overwhelming to ignore. I've never even remotely considered that *I* would be capable (or willing) to homeschool our kids, before now. Having just last night experienced first hand the very same kind of apathy from my middle kid that Joe describes about his own daughter not being a "stem girl" I'm just left with this overwhelming need... to break things.

Sounds interesting! Julie and I may be moving to Haslett soon. Glad to hear the academic performance is strong. I like that you are on the board and learning about cutting edge techniques like Alpha School. I'm currently and hopefully (I think) temporarily homeschooling my son who has intellectual disabilities. I'm going to try using ChatGPT to apply some of the Alpha school techniques to his day. Thank you 🙏

This Alpha option sounds really intriguing. Real question ends up being -- how does it compare cost-wise to public education?
