You're reading my mail! It's like learning Spanish for 2-3 years and then finding out you can wear glasses that will translate into your ear. More importantly IMO, the amount money being spent to improve this means that today is the worst that the technology is going to be. I keep trying to figure out where the moats are going to be in 6-12 months for tech companies. Great article!

I miss you dude! We need to catch up. I want to hear your perspective on all this stuff so bad since you're such a powerful coder. I'd say i'm 70% SUPER EXCITED about the future. I LOVE building again. I'm working WAY too much and it's so much fun. But then about 10% of the time I'm terrified for the future. I get very doomerish and that is unlike me. Thanks so much for reading. Just knowing that it resonated with you makes me feel not so alone in those feelings. Name a time that works and I'll come out to see ya.

I can't tell you what that means to me when you say keep going. I really appreciate it brother!

Unless I am missing something, I am assuming robots doing all that work for you makes you more money, not less, unlike the people that do this work for others and not themselves. Positive you can fill your time in other ways that you love.

I mean, yeah you don’t make the google ad, you don’t approve it or judge it. So. Now what are you going to do with your time? That’s the question, right? It’s a liiiittttle like asking what happens when you hire someone to do that job. Do we not need you now? You’ve been up this ladder.

I know some folks figure this means we can fire half the staff or more. Ok, sure. But I’ve never seen a company out shrink the competition.

Extending that to the whole public.. we could just… accomplish the same stuff we do now, with minimal effort. Maybe mass unemployment. I guess.

Or, we could accomplish massively more.

You just summed up the cognitive dissonance running through my mind daily. 90% of the time I’m hopeful and PUMPED. But I did want to confess to the 10% of dread. Are you feeling that at all?

Sometimes; I think I fear more what will happen if we slow down. This feels different from previous technological advances- normally you can catch up if you get behind. Here, I think you’d be quickly judged as irrelevant and lose your opportunity to catch up.

Definitely feel that.
